Dogs bark keeps Lalu awake all night in Ranchi hospital

first_imgRashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad has requested the jail authorities to shift him to paying ward of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, as the jailed leader is unable to sleep all night due to the constant barking of stray dogs in the campus.“Mr Prasad is not being able to sleep whole night as dogs bark outside in the hospital premises… the bathroom too stinks”, said RJD MLA Bhola Yadav, close aide of Prasad.“We’ve requested the hospital authorities to shift him to paying ward of the hospital and we’ll pay the charges required for it”, he added further.Prasad suffers from blood infection, diabetes and other diseases. The medical authorities have done several tests and all the reports are likely to come by Monday evening.Convicted in three fodder scam case, Prasad on August 30 had surrendered in special CBI court in Ranchi, which had sent him to RIMS for medical assistance. He was on provisional bail since May 11 on medical ground and had got treatment for various ailments at Mumbai, AIIMS in Delhi and RIMS as well.However, on August 24 the court dismissed his bail extension request and asked him to surrender by August 30.If all medical tests would be normal, Prasad could be shifted to Birsa Munda Central jail of Ranchi.last_img
