The cherry trees are being donated by the American Miyazaki Cherry Tree Association of Japan. The first 200 registered children will receive complimentary hot dog lunches and goodie bags. The lake has seen a decline in fishing activity, and Kid’s Fishing Day was designed to introduce fishing to a new generation. Duties include investigating departments and special districts and participating in audits and preparing reports. Service starts July 1 and lasts for a year, usually involving 32 to 40 hours a week. Nominees must be at least 18 and residents of Ventura County for at least one year. Deadline for applications is April 14.
